Looking ahead to the 2015 model year, the e-bike market will continue to be dynamic, exciting and diverse. The fact that automotive supplier Brose recently celebrated the start of production of e-bike drives at its Berlin facility is also exemplary of an important trend in the e-bike segment.

Well-known suppliers are playing an important role in this development. They include Brose, which has earned a lot of praise from the industry for its centrally mounted motor heading into the Eurobike and which is one of the world's leading manufacturers of components for the automotive industry. At the Eurobike, the mountain bike specialists Rotwild, as well as Bulls, a brand belonging to the ZEG, a dealer purchasing cooperative, will present their first e-bike models with Brose drives.

Just as well known is Continental AG, whose Contitech division recently took over a successful German supplier of e-bike drive systems. In the future, the products will be offered under the new Contitech brand. The Continental subsidiary already introduced a belt drive for bicycles at the last Eurobike. In the future, the company will offer e-bike drives and belt technology from the same source.

The established suppliers are also attracting attention. Bosch will not only be presenting its new Nyon display at the Eurobike, which supplies the rider with a wealth of information, including navigation, just like a smart phone; the company is also cooperating with components manufacturers Shimano, Sram and NuVinci. The result is a new way to commonly control the e-bike's drive and shifting system.

This year again, for anyone who wants to experience the trends of the e-bike market for themselves, all roads lead to Friedrichshafen, where from August 27 to 30 over 1280 exhibitors from 54 countries will present their innovations for the coming bike season.

The Eurobike will be open to trade visitors from Wednesday, August 27, to Friday, August 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and to the general public on, Saturday, August 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
