If Microcontrollers and CPUs are the emperors of Embedded Systems, then FPGAs are the grey cardinals: They secretly guide, control and determine many vital processes and enable smooth, efficient processes without making themselves known to the casual observer.

In the roughly 30 years of their existence these rock stars of microelectronics have gone through a rapid evolution – from small beginnings as simple glue logic components through their more flexible use in port control and communications, FPGAs now increasingly push into industrial and automotive spaces. Image Processing, digital converters, hardware acceleration or functional safety are only a few key markets where programmable logic is gaining more and more importance.

But with increased flexibility also comes increased complexity: Tools and Kits need to keep up with these rapid changes. Hardware and Software developers alike need to face the challenge if they want to keep up with the technology.

The FPGA Congress addresses these and many other key aspects. If you want to contribute and share your knowledge with an expert audience and trade professionals, submit your proposal with title and a short abstract at our website www.fpga-kongress.de. The 2017 event, jointly hosted by ELEKTRONIKPRAXIS and the FPGA training center PLC2, will address the following topics:

  • Automotive space (ADAS, Infotainment and more)
  • Emulation and Simulation
  • Hardware acceleration
  • Image Processing and Embedded Vision
  • Safety and security
  • Languages
  • Test and Debug
  • Tools and Design Methods
  • Trends and Forecasts
  • and other applications.

Your proposal should include:

  • the title of your contribution,
  • complete name, degree and place of employment of the author (company or institute),
  • E-Mail-Address and phone number of the speaker,
  • and a short summary (2.000 characters) of your intended presentation.

Proposals can be submitted at www.fpga-kongress.de/de/callforpaper. Deadline for submissions is February 28th 2017.
