Mentor zeigt Nucleus RTOS und Entwicklungstools für RISC-V

Ende Februar in Nürnberg zeigte Mentor die nächste Generation des Echtzeitbetriebssystems Nucleus. Version 4 adressiert Zuverlässigkeit und Sicherheit in modernen heterogenen Embedded-Designs. Details verrät Jeff Hancock im Videointerview. Jeff Hancock, Sr. Procuct Manager, Mentor Embedded Platform Solutions: "The need in that market these days is to leverage the full capability of these heterogeneous new architectures coming out similar to the ultra scale from Xilinx and IMX 8. from NXP. With our mentor embedded solutions for these heterogeneous environments, we allow the user to be able to take advantage of capabilities of real time embedded operating system like our Nucleus operating system, as well as general purpose operating systems like Linux in these heterogeneous environments."

"To fully take advantage of this, you need to have the capability of the multi-core framework technology that we've developed to be able to communicate and share message and data between those two environments. Some of the benefits that customers have is from a cost saving standpoint. So as they're consolidating their devices to a single chip, they can still keep their different operating systems out there and be able to keep their costs low as well as easy migration. And then also, too, from a certification standpoint, if they need a functional safety, they now can separate these non safe world components versus the safe world components out there to keep their certifications costs low because they can really architect and really focus on what's important to actually get certified."
